On 10 March 2026, the PhD scholar Tayyeb Tahir successfully defended his dissertation titled “Expression of Exile in Pakistani Urdu Nazm: A Research and Critical Study.” The thesis was completed under the supervision of Dr. Nasir Abbas Nayyer.
The external examiners for the viva were Dr. Sajid Javed (University of Sargodha) and Dr. Rehana Kausar (Lahore College for Women University). The scholar presented an insightful overview of his research and confidently responded to the questions of the examiners and participants.
After the successful defense, the examiners declared Tayyeb Tahir eligible for the award of the PhD degree and congratulated him. The session was attended by Prof. Dr. Baseera Ambreen, Director of the Institute, along with faculty members and BS, MPhil, and PhD students.
