Seminar Highlights Deep Cultural and Social Bonds Between Türkiye and Pakistan

A thought-provoking seminar titled “Cultural and Social Dimensions of Türkiye–Pakistan Relations” was held at Aiwan-e-Iqbal, Lahore, bringing together diplomats, scholars, intellectuals, and members of civil society to celebrate and strengthen the enduring ties between the two brotherly nations.
The event was organized by the “Dost” Pakistan–Türkiye Friendship Forum in collaboration with the Yunus Emre Institute and Aiwan-e-Iqbal Lahore.
The Chief Guest on the occasion was Mehmet Eymen Şimşek, Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Lahore, who emphasized the historic friendship, shared values, and expanding cultural cooperation between Türkiye and Pakistan. He noted that people-to-people connections, academic collaboration, and cultural exchange remain the cornerstone of the strong bilateral relationship.
The session was chaired by renowned journalist Mujeeb ur Rehman Shami, who highlighted the depth of mutual respect and emotional attachment that binds the people of the two countries. He underlined the importance of media, intellectual dialogue, and cultural initiatives in further strengthening these relations.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Dean Faculty of Oriental Learning, University of the Punjab, Lahore, shed light on the historical brotherhood, cultural affinities, shared heritage, and deep-rooted love between Pakistan and Türkiye. In a moving moment of the seminar, Dr. Kamran presented his poetry on Pakistan–Türkiye friendship, which was warmly received and appreciated by the audience.
Scholarly papers were presented by distinguished speakers including Prof. Dr. Halil Toker, Country Director, Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center Pakistan, Prof. Dr. Saadat Saeed, Dr. Farooq Adil and Dr. Sadaf Naqvi.
The speakers explored various cultural, social, and historical dimensions of bilateral relations, emphasizing literary exchanges, educational collaboration, and the shared civilizational values that continue to bring the two nations closer.
The seminar concluded with a renewed commitment to further enhancing academic cooperation, cultural diplomacy, and intellectual engagement between Türkiye and Pakistan.
