Department of Plant Pathology (DPP) Hits Another Milestone! ![]() Prof. Dr. Tehmina Anjum (Former Chairperson, DPP) and Dr. Zill-e-Huma Aftab (Assistant Professor, DPP) have been awarded two competitive research grants for the 2024-2025 academic year, a testament to their unwavering commitment to advancing scientific knowledge in food safety and nutrition. The project titled 'Estimation of the Glycemic Index for Multigrain and Sugar-Free Flours from VIRSA' has secured a Rs. 550,000 grant from VIRSA. The study promises to bring valuable insights into healthier flour alternatives, potentially impacting dietary practices and public health awareness nationwide. Another project, titled 'Isolation and Identification of Fungal Contaminants in Silage and Mycotoxin Biodegradation', has received a Rs. 1,001,000 grant from SoulTech Pakistan. This research tackles critical concerns in livestock feed safety, aiming to mitigate the risk of mycotoxins through sustainable biodegradation methods.
